Edd Webb was promoted to head football coach at Sammamish High School. Webb was an assistant last season, coaching linebackers, tight ends and special teams. He previously coached freshmen at Mountlake Terrace High School. Webb is a former three-sport high-school athlete in Virginia, and played international rugby while living in Bermuda. He replaces Chris Bennett, who resigned after one season to become head coach at Issaquah. The Totems of the tough KingCo 3A Conference were 2-8 last fall, but finished the season with about 100 players in the program.
"There is a lot of football excitement in the building," Webb said. "Sammamish football is a program with a lot of potential."
Bob Moretti is in his first year at Sammamish High School, coaching the running backs and linebackers. Bob has previously coached at both the high school and collegiate level and is a graduate of Western Michigan University.
Ryan Harvey is beginning his first year of being an Assistant Football Coach at Sammamish High School. He is 21 years old and has been coaching at the Varsity level for the Orcas Island Vikings, where he played in High School. At Orcas Island he coached Kickers, Receivers’, Defensive Backs, and the Stargazers and was also a big part of the Defensive side of the ball. During games he helped in the booth scripting plays and telling the coaches on the field what types of coverage the defense was in and what tendencies the coach of the opposing team would have on offense. His career goal is to advance his coaching career as far as possible.
Ryan started playing football when he was 9 years old and since that time has played almost every position on the field. He played Varsity all four years of high school, during which his team made it to the playoffs every year.
"I am looking forward to bringing my experience to the Sammamish Totems as we will try to bring back a winning tradition to the program. I also look forward to working with the other coaches whom I have come to know and admire their knowledge and work ethic that they show on and off the field. It should be a fun and exciting season, and I hope to help make it a MEMORABLE ONE!"
