Jessica Cabales has been with the SHS Fastpitch program
since 1992. She was a player from 1992-1996 at Sammamish. She, then served as the Assistant
Varsity/ Head JV coach from 1997-2008. She has been with
the program on their multiple trips to Districts and the State
Tournament. 2009 marked her first year as the Head Varsity
Coach. She also works with the Bellevue East Little League to help with coaches training and the All-star program.
Totem pride runs in her family as both Jessica and
her father are Sammamish grads, 25 years apart. As a Fastpitch
player, she was excited to contribute to her school. As a
coach, she is able to continue her commitment
to SHS and the softball community in Bellevue.
Steve Wood is a graduate of Issaquah High School. He has been coaching for 19 years at various schools including Issaquah, and Liberty. He has been at Sammamish as the Assistant Varsity Coach since 2004. He is currently the Assistant Varsity/ Head JV coach at SHS. Coach Wood spent 20 years in the Army Reserves and currently is a Driver Education Teacher at a driving school in Renton and a substitute teacher in the Issaquah School District.
